Well after a hectic Michaelmas term, I was able to get back from the holidays and get the tandem stripped down. All appeared as it should, so I carted the frame and fork up to Mercian Cycles in Derby and ordered a respray. Mercian's 65 color options were daunting, but I eventually settled on a polychromatic mint green. The frame was originally covered in some sort of dark blue tone, but time and exposure had rendered it many different shades, and totally destroyed the transfers. I thought a lighter color on the frame would better show off the intricate lugwork, and the mint promised to do the trick. After making the choice, Grant brought out a Mercian track frame in the same color, but with the added touch of gold lug lining. Thanks, guys; tack another unexpected, but now totally necessary extra few quid onto the bill!
Delivery time is 6-8 weeks, so I will post pictures when it arrives!
